Gardening photos

Our volunteer morning on August 30th was very productive: we filled several bare hollows around the Cricket Pavilion with compost, and then scattered grass seed, with the help of children who just happened to be there with their parents, enjoying snacks from the cafe. They were really keen to help, and the whole exercise was great fun. (See pictures below). We have also had some tremendous enthusiasm from George Heriot’s School, who during September sent us four separate classes of 10-year-olds to help with jobs around the Meadows: weeding the Sundial, seeding bare patches with grass, weeding under benches, and clearing leaves. More help is promised. Do join us on our next volunteer expedition, on 25 October. Meet at the Pavilion, 10:00 am, wear stout shoes and bring gloves.
